2013 Resolution: RESIST and DEFEAT the War on Women
Be our Facebook friend at Fermare Patriarcato and see the events / links / updates you need to share & attend! This movement is not a cyberspace phenomenon! We are out on the streets today and beyond.
We resolve to make 2013 a year of massive, uncompromising struggle - against all forms of the degradation and enslavement of women!
Last year, too many women died simply because they are female in this world of male domination. From the 23-year-old medical student who was gang-raped and just died in India to Savita Halappanavar who died because she was denied an abortion even though she was miscarrying in Ireland to the more than 3 womeneach day who were killed by their “partners” throughout the U.S….
All of this is INTOLERABLE - and we REFUSE TO TOLERATE IT ANY LONGER!
In 2013, join us in resolving to make a huge leap in putting an end to the thousands of years of degradation, objectification, enslavement, brutality, insult, injury and oppression of women.
Start by joining us in standing up for abortion rights for the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. -Sunsara Taylor

We are going out tonight to a Candlelight Vigil for the 23-year-old woman in New Delhi who was raped on a bus on December 16 and died a few days ago from her injuries. The Mercury News wrote, in the context of this story, that there were 600 rapes reported in India in 2012, and only one conviction. They also quote the following: “‘We stand in solidarity with her, her family and a nation that is mourning her loss,’ said Yogi Chugh, a Fremont planning commissioner. ‘We need to highlight that rape is part of a larger, systematic problem of violence against women, and it must never be accepted, never excused and never tolerated anywhere in the world.’” There is a war on women! We are going to train stations, art shows, film screenings, college campuses, etc, to spread the message, raise funds, and build resistance for We Won’t Go Back!, a pro-abortion counterprotest against the March / Walk for “Life” in DC and San Francisco January 25 & 26.
