Medical License of Dr. Tiller’s Colleague Ordered Revoked
by Kari Ann Rinker in Kansas
Everyone: The campaign to raise $2,500 by March 8th is on. We have 11 days to reach this goal.
We are a new grouping of people coming from a variety of political viewpoints and experience who refuse to accept the current war against women.
On March 10th, to commemorate International Women’s Day, we are holding a PROTEST & MARCH in New York City.
We will march to and protest many sites of female enslavement, from St. Patrick’s Cathedral (for its role in the war on abortion and birth control), to the objectification of women on the billboards in Times Square, to the US Military recruiting center (for the military’s quasi-official reliance on brothels as “perks” to male soldiers as well as the massive rates of sexual assault against female soldiers), to an anti-abortion fake “clinic,” and to the strip clubs in the area.
We say: Women are not objects. Women are not things to be used for the sexual pleasure of men NOR are they breeders of children. WOMEN ARE HUMAN BEINGS CAPABLE OF FULL EQUALITY IN EVERY REALM!
This is a brand new effort with no source of funding… except from people like you who value this work.
The total cost of organizing this protest — including doing it on a scale that really saturates and penetrates into the awareness and debates among young people in particular — will be $2,500.
This includes more than 20,000 fliers, 1,000 each of three bold and provocative stickers, crime scene tape which reads DANGER: CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN, posters, banners, and materials to make this all beautiful.
Read about the needs..the perks.. and what this will accomplish. You can be part of this. Your donation of $100 - $50 - $35 - even $10 will make a difference!
I was happy to see that Maura Judkis over at the Washington Post blogs picked up on my commentary on the Liquid Plumr Double Impact ad the other day. I was significantly less happy, however, when she brought to my attention this ad from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) which makes light of violence against women and sexual violence:
This woman is clearly very injured. She is in a neck brace, for Christ’s sake. Plus, the ad intentionally features her stumbling and seeming to wince from pain between her legs as she tries to climb the stairs.
Her injuries are supposed to have been caused by “TFWVAKTBOOM.” That is, “Boyfriend went vegan and knocked the bottom out of me.” As the ad goes on to say, her boyfriend “went vegan” and all of a sudden was able to “bring it like a tantric porn star.” Then, we see footage of her being banged violently against the wall (later he is seen patching the wall up with plaster).
The “capper” to the whole ad is that she seems to have stumbled through the streets, wincing painfully all the way, wearing her neckbrace and almost nothing else (why would she bother to get dressed, it would delay the sexual aggression she is portrayed as clearly craving) to go out and purchase some raw veggies for her newly vegan boyfriend. All, as is spelled out with no room for subtlety or guessing, because she is so eager to be near-raped and battered again.
News Flash:
Women DON’T like being battered and beaten. No one should want to have sex like a porn star — porn is about dehumanizing and degrading, about getting off on the enslavement of others. And if you want to make a case for “going vegan” — especially if you claim to be doing so out of a desire to be “ethical to animals” — then make a fucking argument for why that is ethical, don’t do so based on appealing to ugly misogyny and machismo or by trivializing sexual assault and violent battery.
It is time this shit be opposed and called out for the woman-hating it concentrates and normalizes. This is NOT something people should just laugh off or get used to. The normalizing of violence and sexual assault against women is growing. It will not stop if it is not publicly and massively resisted and challenged. This is why one of the stops on our March 10th protest for International Women’s Day is Times Square, where we will protest the objectification and degradation of women which saturates American culture. We’ll protest the way that women’s bodies are displayed — half naked and half starved — and used to sell everything from cars to clothes to “American culture” to the world.
This is part of a larger march connecting up the many sites of the degradation and enslavement of women. We’ll be starting at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the biggest Catholic institution in New York for their role in the assault on birth control and abortion. We’ll protest the US Military Recruiting Center for the way it concentrates violence against women. We’ll protest one of the anti-abortion “Crisis Pregnancy Centers” and several of the strip clubs in the area. JOIN US!

12:00 Noon
Protest and March against sites of women’s oppression!
12 noon: GATHER AT ST. PATRICK’S CATHEDRAL!
Fifth Avenue between 50-51st Streets:
The Catholic Church’s approach to women, gender, science and sexuality is a Dark Ages disaster! The Pope has condemned condoms (causing millions of HIV/AIDs deaths). The Church condemns homosexuality and insists that “divorce is a sin” (contributing to women staying in abusive marriages). Recently, Catholic Bishops urged “non-compliance” with new regulations requiring health insurance to cover birth control!
MARCH to TIMES SQUARE:
Protest the objectification of women! Women’s near-naked and rail-thin bodies are used to sell everything from clothes to cars to “American culture” to the entire world.
Protest the US Military Recruiting Center! Protest the US military’s quasi-official reliance on brothels as a “perk” to male soldiers; the role of military forces in trafficking women & girls; and the epidemic of rape, harassment and violence against female soldiers.
MARCH to and PROTEST STRIP CLUBS in the area!
U.S. men spend an estimated $15 billion a year on strip clubs, as compared to $4 billion on baseball. Strip clubs have always objectified & degraded women. But as women have entered – and fought for increasing respect in – the public sphere, strip clubs have become an enclave for sexism and male entitlement towards women’s bodies. Further, strip clubs prey upon the desperation, abuse and addiction of many women, including trafficked women.
ALONG THE WAY: Protest “Crisis Pregnancy Centers”
& Celebrate Abortion Provider Appreciation Day:
Crisis Pregnancy Centers are fake “clinics.” They are driven by an anti-abortion agenda, often have no clinical staff, spread lies, guilt-trip women and enormously delay and complicate women’s ability to access abortion.
In contrast, we’ll celebrate abortion providers because March 10th is Abortion Provider Appreciation Day!

We are told that “equality for women has been won” and that “there are no limits to what girls can achieve.” BULLSHIT!
Every 15 seconds a woman is beaten. Every day three to four women are killed by their partners. One in four female college students will be raped or sexually assaulted while in college.
Pornography has become increasingly violent, cruel, degrading towards women even as it has become more mainstream. Millions of women are trafficked as literal chattel in the international sex industry.
This is NOT society becoming more comfortable with sex. This is society becoming saturated with the sexualized degradation of women. If you can’t imagine sex without porn, you’re fucked.
At the same time, the right to abortion and even birth control are under escalating assault. Being forced to bear a child against your will is a form of enslavement.
THIS MUST BE STOPPED!

The ultimate goal of Walk for Life is the re-banning of abortion and the end of contraception.
I think it’s absolutely unconscionable and it would mean that we live in a society where women are not considered fully human.”
” —Stephanie Tang with World Can’t Wait, quoted by CBS in their coverage of the march this weekend in San Francisco. They may claim to be crusaders on behalf of unborn children, but there is more hate here than love. I don’t know how many times I have heard anti-abortion activists say that women who die from illegal abortions “get what’s coming to them.” When I did clinic escort duty in Chicago, the anti’s kicked us and spat on us. They linked arms around us, chanting “Christ-killers, baby-killers” as we helped women through their gauntlet.
Their ringleader, who said he was a Catholic seminarian, told us that they did these things “to make sure these girls have help living their lives right.” He then ran over a clinic guard with his car.
” —author Sara Paretsky in: Our bodies, our fertility, Chicago Tribune yesterdayReally worth reading the whole thing.
Obviously, the world has changed since that quote, but the strategic orientation laid by Viguerie explains a lot as to why the crazy Christian fascist lunatics didn’t stay on the margins of society but were elevated and given major backing by ruling class forces starting with Reagan and continuing till today where they are now all throughout the halls of power, courts, high finance and military.” —

Read the whole piece - more on how “the bourgeois feminist movement (including the mainstream of the pro-choice movement) has totally subordinated itself to the Democratic Party.”
Tumblr, don’t miss out on the Facebook discussion!
Sex ≠ Porn. But some believe since it’s a choice some women make, porn can’t be criticized.
We differ. Click the link to see.
What do you think?

One of the things that distinguishes human beings as thinking creatures from animals that bear young until their bodies give out is that we always have and always will control our reproduction. See: http://4000yearsforchoice.com/4000/timeline/
To say it again: women always have, and always will, do what we can to control our reproduction.
The question is: will we live in a society that supports that in a healthy, safe way that affirms our participation as *actual human beings,* or will we be officially subjugated as less than human?
Fetuses are NOT babies. Abortion is NOT murder. Women are NOT incubators.
